Winners of best kept garden/yard competition for 2024 announced
Hetton-le-Hole residents Louise King and Michael Simpson have been chosen as winners in the 2024 competition organised by Hetton Town Council.
Hetton Town Mayor Cllr Susan Waterston and Deputy Town Mayor Cllr Philip Dowell with winners Michael Simpson and Louise King.
At a presentation held at The Hetton Centre, Michael and Louise were given prizes of gift cards to the value of £100.00 each.
Cllr Waterston, who judged the entries with Cllr Dowell said “It was a difficult decision but the efforts made by Michael and Louise really stood out.”
Second-time winner Louise, of Station Road in the town commented “I always try to keep the yard tidy and colourful and am pleased to have won again.” Michael, of Ten Fields added “I’m delighted to have won and the gift card prize is much appreciated.”
Prizes awarded were Sunderland Gift cards which can be bought and used in a variety of experiences and retail outlets across the Sunderland area. The gift cards support the Town Council’s aim to promote local businesses.
